    Waterfront Forum

Mayor Byron W. Brown this week announced an opportunity for the public to express what they’d like to see in terms of future development activities on Buffalo’s waterfront.

Called the Citizen Waterfront Forum (http://www.city-buffalo.com/Citizen_Waterfront_Forum), Mayor Brown has created a form that will be posted on the City of Buffalo website, which anyone can fill out and either submit via the website or call the city’s 311 Call Center with their ideas on waterfront development.

“Now that Bass Pro is no longer being considered as part of Buffalo’s redeveloped waterfront, I’ve heard from residents from across our city about what they would like to see as part of our waterfront development,” said Mayor Brown. “The development of Canal Side along the waterfront is critically important to the future of Buffalo. I want to make sure our citizens have the chance to state publicly what they think is needed to make our waterfront vibrant, exciting and sustainable. I intend to present their opinions in a report I will submit to the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation at its next regularly scheduled board meeting on September 13, 2010.”
