Go HUNGRY for Haiti Fast "Go Without a little..Help a lot"

The Network of Religious Communities (NRC) is sponsoring a Go Hungry for Haiti Fast campaign.

The NRC is asking congregations and or families to fast one meal a week for the next six months and send the price of the meal to help the Haitian Relief effort. Congregations are encouraged to collect funds raised and send them to the relief agency associated with their particular religious traditons or send them to the Network of Religious Communities where they will be forwarded to the American Red Cross on a regular basis.

The local American Red Cross has raised over $200,000 for relief in Haiti with the grand total for the American Red Cross exceeds 230 million dollars towards relief in Haiti. The Red Cross is also offering training opportunities for those looking to respond to crisis in their own community. According to the Greater Buffalo Red Cross website, they have responded to over 60 emergencies in Western New York helping over 280 people.
