A group of 32 Western New Yorkers will be filling a bus and heading to New Orleans tomorrow, April 10th to continue efforts to revitalize New Orleans in the aftermath of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The trip entitled, “Fill That Bus” is sponsored by Eastern Hills Wesleyan church in partnership the Salvation Army in New Orleans. The trip is open to anyone 18 years or older and will be leaving from Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church on Saturday April 10th.
THRiVE! Magazine will be traveling with the team and providing daily media updates, both interviews and photos, via www.thrivebuffalo.org, face book, and twitter for the duration of the trip April 10-17.
THRiVE! provided extensive coverage of the Extreme Makeover in Buffalo this past November including aerial videography via helicopter. THRiVE! believes this trip is another way Buffalo residents are reaching out to make a difference, “We are joining with Eastern Hills Wesleyan’s ‘Fill That Bus’ trip because as we saw last November with Extreme Makeover, there is something special when a community of people come together to give of themselves in service to others. The team will be partnering with the Salvation Army in New Orleans to continue rebuilding New Orleans,” said THRiVE! Editor Kyle Patterson. THRiVE! Photojournalist Matt Brown will be providing daily updates.
